How "couply" is it acceptable to be when directly having a conversation with someone else?
So in a cafe today I noticed a couple who were being rather canoodly whilst deep in conversation with a lady sitting opposite, who I presume was one of their mothers. Rather canoodly as in, the girl was half buried in her partner's chest whilst speaking and they'd periodically turn around to snog. Not unreasonably, my reaction was, "you rude dicks".
Now, hand holding would have been fine. Him having his arm around her would have been fine, had she sat up normally and not tried to attach her head to his chest. Interrupting things in order to get some tongue was not. Or does the fact that the third person in question was a parent make things different? Had they in fact had a devastating argument the hour before and were desperately trying to show the parent how happy together they still were?
I have a feeling I'm going to regret starting these kinds of threads.
