Surely a pretty important thing for many businesses, but if not for yours then yes, URGH.
plus the other people there aren't people I need to forge particularly close links with.
Plus it's an evening meeting. Ah well.
spending ages making a cup of coffee (stirring for at least 30 seconds) and the occasional nervous smile/grimace at the people sat next to me.
A bit like a visit from my girlfriend's parents.
My industry wouldn't function without it- there are plenty of natural resources lawyers out there but which one to pick- the random person you've goggled or the person you met at that conference (etc.... yawn).
it's just full of people who i've got no real need to get to know, so it's a bit of a waste of effort. hmm
I got half way through and realised that it was just a course in how to make conversation with people.
Never have I felt more lonely.
Apparently we're setting up a Twitter account. Baring in mind that I work for a public transport company, this seems like a total waste of time. However, as the only person in the office with a Twitter account, it does mean that I will be paid to tweet at some point this week. Sweet
