I'm not having a lot of luck with avocados at the moment.
I love avocados possibly more than any other single foodstuff, but I haven't had a good one in ages. I nearly always buy ready ripe ones (and what a fucking con that is, how do the supermarkets get away with it? ripe my arse) and even though I'm that anal guy who scrupulously checks every pack to find decent ones, whenever I cut them open I'm greeted with either dubious grey patches (can patches exist in a 3D state? Grey lumps) or even worse, those brown stringy bits which remind you of the fibrous nature of the plant. I yearn for a perfectly soft, ripe, nutty and buttery avocado, but I'm beginning to give up hope.
Avocados. How do you eat yours?
