scary/creepy/chilling stuff you've seen or read on the internet:
Korean comic book I think. Not massively NSFW, but you might want to angle your screen away a bit to watch it. And cover your mouth for when you yelp out.
No tits or fannies or cocks or owt like that.
The Taman Shud story is bonkers. First I've heard of the others...
terrifying - especially when you see all the pictures of them happy and just chilling out
Btw this is the best thread ever
JFC that's creepy as all hell, mang.
NO FANNY YET AGAIN :'''''(
A casino where I always win. That's boring. I must really be... in Hell!
...it is PROPERLY nuts.
The Dyatlov Pass Incident has been mostly explained though, tbh. Their odd behavious, being found without clothes, etc., is quite normal for people experience extreme hypothermia.
but generally people that die of extreme hypothermia don't have skull damage caused by something which had " the force of a car crash"
They weren't found until weeks after they'd died - the missing tongue was probably torn out by a wild animal, the tans were caused by sunlight reflecting off the snow (as happens in snowy areas), the crushing damage was probably an avalanche which then shifted to reveal the bodies, the lack of clothes and desperate tearing at the tents to get outside is typical 'paradoxical undressing'.
All the other stuff - radiation, aliens, light in the sky, experiments, etc., etc. - wasn't in the original reports of the incident, and all that later stuff was probably added as part of cold war obfuscation.
It's a real sensation of being too hot cos the temperature-regulating bit of the brain messes up or something. So that wouldn't explain cutting the tent open from inside. They probably thought there was an avalanche on it's way.
I've been reading the comments here for hours:
and in the path of any potential avalanche when apparently experienced hikers (which they were) know to go higher and perpendicular. WHY DID THEY GO DOWN, and for over a mile, in their underwear?
I'm scared of the dark now. My life's ruined.
Although again I should point out that the bits about 'bright balls of light in the sky' and the radiation being in the clothing was likely added later on in the 80s. There's no mention of anything supernatural in the original notes. As someone rightly points out in the comments, it's even weirder that the investigators thought to check for radiation levels in the first place.
The stuff that's in the original investigation notes is the tent ripping, the internal injuries, the missing tongue, and the lack of clothes. Strange, but not quite as strange.
and it allegedly says that in the original report so that one has obviously been distorted over time and should be ignored really.
The bright balls in the sky and radiation stuff is bollocks, as is the 'strange brown tan' stuff. Their dead bodies had been lying there for over a month, they're not gonna look normal.
The missing clothes is due to them having fled the tent in the clothes they were wearing as they slept. Whatever disturbed them was obviously such a threat that they didn't even have time to put shoes on (some of them only had one shoe, others didn't have any on at all.) It's kinda strange that they ripped the tent open considering the entrance to the tent was open when it was found. That either suggests that there was something terrifying at the entrance or the people at the back didn't want to wait behind the others to get out.
The internal injuries were probably from falling into a ravine... though they said they had no external injuries?
But still, we don't know what they were running from. Experienced hikers have said that fleeing the base like that in those temperatures would only happen if the option of staying meant certain death. I keep picturing the situation in my mind and how terrifying the ordeal must have been and it well disturbs me.
..but I'm pretty sure there are some injuries you can have which don't show up on the outside, like broken bones. And if you hold ice over a bruise it stops it being as bad, they were surrounded by snow, so... yeah, I don't think it's that weird.
The explanation someone posits in that thread seems to make the most sense to me - a small snowdrift was mistaken for an avalanche, and they got out of the tent as fast as possible to get to the shelter of the trees. They fixed their one torch to the roof of the tent to try and mark it so they could get back, and then they tried to build a fire while they waited to see if there would be a big avalanche. Then some of them tried to get back to the tent, they got lost or whatever and ended up freezing to death, then the ones by the trees also tried to find their way and got lost, a couple fell down a ravine...
Just a series of small, likely explanations to everything, really. I don't mean to take the fun out of it, but for something that's brought up all the time as an example of a baffling mystery, it just doesn't seem like it to me.
and in the path of any potential avalanche when they know in those circumstances to not do that, cos they're experienced innit. But yeah, it could just have been that they didn't want to stand around on a mountain slope waiting for an avalanche and thus freezing to death so instead wanted to try and wait it out at the forest where they could build a fire. That explanation is probably correct yeah. The snow/no external wounds thing sounds right too.
It could be. I have researched the Cumberland Spaceman for the last few years. I think it might be a hoax.
Have a look at my research :
Sorry that should be :

Polish Air Force
The military jet crashed and was destroyed while attempting to land in dense fog and poor visibility. The crew requested permission to carry out a trial approach to a decision height of 100 m and told the controller to expect a go-around. A few seconds before impact, the autopilot and autothrottle were disconnected in order to execute a go-around. The airplane impacted upsloping terrain at a distance of about 1,100 meters from the runway and 40 m to the left of extended centerline. The immediate cause of the accident was the failure of the crew to make a timely decision to proceed to an alternate airport although they were not once timely informed of the actual weather conditions at Smolensk, which were significantly lower than the established airport minima. Descent without visual contact with ground references to an altitude much lower than minimum descent altitude for a go-around, in order to establish visual flight. No reaction to the numerous TAWS warnings which led to controlled flight into terrain, aircraft destruction and death of the crew and passengers. Polish president Lech Kaczynski and his wife were among the 96 people killed.

The spaceman one. WTF?
A couple of maritime ones:
Some kind of explosion in the hold scared the passengers and crew, so they all loaded onto the lifeboat and decided to trail behind the main ship while the alcoholic fumes dissipated, but some idiot forgot to tie the lifeboat to the ship...
But Occam's Razor tells us the simplest solution is usually correct, so I'm afraid it was probably alien abduction.
whoever directed magnum force has a lot to answer for there.
And to claim racism against him because the jury were white. Fucking c*nt
really freaked me out
Timothy King, 11, borrowed 30 cents from his older sister and left his home in Birmingham, skateboard in hand, to buy candy at a drugstore on nearby Maple Road on Wednesday, March 16, 1977, at about 8:30 p.m. He left the store by the rear entrance, which opened to a parking lot shared with a supermarket, and vanished. An intensive search was executed that covered the entire Detroit metropolitan area, and there was widespread media coverage, already heavy with coverage of the previous three slayings. In an emotional television appeal, Timothy's father, Barry King, begged the abductor to release his son unharmed. In a letter printed in the Detroit News, Marion King wrote that she hoped Timothy could come home soon so she could serve him his favorite meal, Kentucky Fried Chicken. In the late evening hours of March 22, 1977, two teenagers in a car spotted his body in a shallow ditch alongside Gill Road, about 300 feet south of Eight Mile Road in Livonia, just across the county line in Wayne County. His skateboard was placed next to his body. His clothing had been neatly pressed and washed. He had been suffocated and sexually assaulted with an object. The postmortem showed that Timothy had eaten fried chicken before he was slain.
my balls are now firmly lodged in my stomach
along with that horrifying argentine gnome D:
i can't watch it again
hate how the film cut off, though. why would you stop filming it unless it vanished into undergrowth/cover or posed a thread?
also love the 40K/steampunk gnome comparison drawing at the end :D
watch out for the picture
I don't know why he isn't better known, he's terrifying.
Fish chose as his victims people who were either mentally handicapped or African-American, explaining that he assumed these people would not be missed when killed. Fish tortured, mutilated and murdered young children with his "implements of Hell": a meat cleaver, butcher knife, and a bone saw.
for a start it says on the page linked to that the mayans predicted the world will end. well no.
they also didnt have leap years, so their dates are well off
but if you are going to list those random things & include shakespeare, why not include cervantes who died on the exact same day?
I'm thinking Clouzot's Le Corbeau meets Saturday Night Fever.
but that Maura missing person thing is the grimmest thing of all. She kept crashing her car, refusing help then disappearing. Somehow that's the grimmest thing for me.
and like to think she was just determined to do a runner, which she eventually did.
that people can just disappear without a trace in the modern world, without leaving some kind of trail or being seen somewhere. That Maura thing is proper creepy.
the same reason the madeleine mccann disappearance is so weird and creepy. the wikipedia for 'sightings of madeleine mccann' is horrible.
not to be contrary or anything, it's a big world
but it gets properly fucked up when you get down to the bit about the possible connection to the Mangnoson case, with the dead toddler and the weird stalker and threatening phone calls. I bet that has some fucking dark shit behind it, yet they just tossed it off as a tragedy and hoax calls. So grim.
Look for the video on YouTube. It's really creepy.
Also very creepy. There are loads of clips on YouTube.
their use has actually increased since the cold war ended.
My mother claims that the baby monitor from when I was little would pick up numbers stations, flight paths, and radio stations. She tells the story of once going to check on me during my afternoon nap, then hearing a man's voice. Turns out it was coming from the baby monitor. SPOOKY.
When the music kicks in, a little bit of wee came out.
Such a creepy voice.
(the name of the album is taken from the broadcast they used) by sampling one of the Conet Project CDs, and then got sued by Irdial for infringement :D
I've started and I know I'm not going to enjoy this.
never going near a cave. Ever.
I'm never going anywhere ever
I think that's the safest course of action
*someone posts link about something terrifying happening in the home*
Ran. Like, sprinted.
Thanks for that.
thinking about the rake :(
that is amazing.
and this definitely has good ideas in it but there are bits in it that are too cheesy and I'm not sure it makes sense in the chronology it's attempted to use. Enjoyed reading it though.
Excellent build up, ruined by laying it on too thick in the final third.
Rough synopsis: He starts having hallucinations and seeing odd things around his house, gets really depressed. Feels compelled to go somewhere, goes there, sees mate who is having same problems. Says that all three cavers feel like they have to go back and investigate the cave, says he'll update soon when they come back safely. There is no further update.
Or a page missing.. Why would he put a link to a missing page?
It subtly suggests that he never made it back from that last expedition.
It's 100% a work of fiction but I guess you could say that he prepared the ground for the next update by linking to the page but never got to actually make the page.
I dunno, it's just a creepy bit of fiction!
Wonder if it was based on this?
Dude finds thing in cave
This gargantuan sea beast will surely one day destroy us all.
Excellent read though. It's great when writer's engage and accurately gauge human emotions. Terrifyingly real.
Genuinely excellent piece this.
and now have to go and have fun...and smile... AND PRETEND I'M NOT SCARED OF EVERY NOISE I HEAR. Good god, talk about a way to kill a day's good vibes.
So tired of that shit.
The top one is very weird. Would make a good episode of Blue Heelers.
I spent a few late evenings a while back reading all the entries on this from 1900 onwards :
A few are kind of crap "pilot goes missing at sea" stories, but some are really interesting.
The revelation at the end of the first paragraph makes it proper creepy.
It is truly weird.
The final entry on the list might well be the oddest though, not least for the lack of information http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Disappearance_of_Edward_and_Austin_Bryant
well done wishpig, i like these threads.
rather than a work day.
More freaky 70's shit.
Gloria Ramirez (January 11, 1963 - February 19, 1994) was a Riverside, California, woman dubbed "the toxic lady" by the media when several Riverside General Hospital workers became ill after exposure to her body and blood.
Berlin police have appealed for information to help them establish the identity of a teenager who appeared in the city saying that he had been living in the woods for five years.
The teenager is about 17, and speaks English and a little German.
He told the police that he and his father went to live in the woods after his mother died.
He said he left the woods in August when his father died, and walked for two weeks before reaching Berlin.
He said he couldn't remember where his family came from, but that his name was Ray.
The Toynbee tiles (also called Toynbee plaques) are messages of mysterious origin found embedded in asphalt of streets in about two dozen major cities in the United States and four South American capitals. Since the 1980s, several hundred tiles have been discovered.
The resurrecting the dead on Jupiter thing reminded meof this, which I think fits the thread pretty well. Some of the details are just harrowing:

Fuck my boots...you've almost got to hand it to him.
I dreamed of a mad surgeon who was trying to graft fingers onto people's ankles in order to "restore the human race to its simian best". No shit, I remember him saying those exact words as he chased me through an underground shopping centre. This thread has ruined my brain forever.
and here's another good one:
this guy sounds like a bit of a nightmare: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gary_Ridgway
surrounding the Dunblane massacre? It's all very fishy, involves senior police, top level politicians, gun permits, suppression of information, lack of appearance by the first officer on the scene at the official inquiry and paedophile rings.
so far it's giving me a headache http://dunblaneunburied.webs.com/

the person's clearly a bit of a mong (why do they keep saying 100 years?), but definitely some weird stuff about that trial.
i thought it was a typo. that's mental.
and good thread.
I want to but I'm too scared.
Sorry, I couldn't help it :)
the suspect in this case, Bevan von Einem (his wiki page is just...urgh) seems to be the most evil person in the world:
<<One of the witnesses, regarded as highly credible by police, related a conversation in which von Einem boasted of having taken three children from a beach several years earlier, and said he had taken them home to conduct experiments. He said he had performed surgery on each of them, and had "connected them together".>>
Arnna had told her mother that Jane had "got a boyfriend down the beach. :(
I want to hire some goons and tell them to go to work on van Einem.
IT'S GIVING ME TERRIBLE NIGHTMARES
The surgical precision that had been used on the victims is so disturbing! Truly a doctor gone mad.
like that guy who offered to drive the injured woman's husband back to the house and ended up being killed.
but couldn't bring myself to do it. Google it if you want, but it's some seriously fucked up shit, one bit in particular.
I was referring to the Australian one.
that bit at the toll booth. makes you wonder how the hell someone can be so messed up in the head
and he does :(
I could never be a policeman, it would fuck me up.
How about a creepy love story instead.
this has reminded me of both a spanish horror movie i want to forget and this lady: http://smiles-politely.blogspot.com/2007/06/shaye-saint-john.html
cheers guys. i'm glad this forum only supports text and i don't have to see all the horror at once.
i remember a while back someone posted this horror/weird fiction website, similar to a wikipedia but concerning different research projects at a facility... i can't remember for the life of me what it was called. there was an indestructible monster, a man who appeared to eb the devil, and a machine the size of a room that had different settings and they tried feeding it various items just to see what the result would be.
can anyone enlighten me??
http://creepypasta.wikia.com or, http://scp-wiki.wikidot.com/
i don't really like those fake things though - not realistically horrifying enough and some of them are just shite like THE RAKE
thanks! would never have found it myself.
The most notorious place in Australia for weird murdery shit. I used to go swimming as a kid at Somerton Beach where that guy was found. :/
I'm glad someone mentioned the Beaumont Children disappearence. Very strange.

DEATH AROUND EVERY CORNER
There was brief silence until he said "it is hovering and it's not an aircraft". This was followed by 17 seconds of unidentified noise, described as being "metallic, scraping sounds", then all contact was lost.
Guido Valentich also told the AP that "his son used to study UFOs as a hobby using information he had obtained from the air force."
I liked this until I read that bit. Typical.
Cheers for ruining everything, one sheet.
Exactly what happened on that Friday evening cannot be said for certain. It is believed that the older couple, as well as their daughter Viktoria and her daughter Cäzilia, were somehow all lured into the barn one by one where they were brutally slaughtered. The perpetrator(s) then went into the house where they killed two-year-old Josef who was sleeping in his cot in his mother’s bedroom, as well as the maid, Maria Baumgartner, in her bed-chamber.
A few days prior to the crime, farmer Andreas Gruber told neighbours about discovering footprints in the snow leading from the edge of the forest to the farm; however, there were none leading back. He also talked about hearing footsteps in the attic and finding an unfamiliar newspaper on the farm. Furthermore, the house keys went missing several days before the murders, but none of this was reported to the police.
The autopsy also showed that the younger Cäzilia had been alive for several hours after the assault. Lying in the straw, next to the bodies of her grandparents and her mother, she had torn her hair out in tufts.
is the footsteps in the snow coming from the woods, with no footsteps going back the way. it seems like the fella from the village may well have been the guy who did it, but a couple of things about it don't make any sense...why hide in the attic for days if he lived so close to the house?
Unidentified dead man found on beach...oh noes?
It's like something out of the X-Files!
The film I am Number 4 is on on my tv and a character said 'My entire childhood has been like an episode of the X Files' just as I read this post! D:
Nilsen queried why the police would be interested in his drains, so the officer told him they were filled with human remains. "Good grief, how awful!" exclaimed Nilsen. "Don't mess about, where's the rest of the body?" replied Jay. Nilsen responded calmly, admitting that they were in two plastic bags in his wardrobe.
Like, when I could actually sleep properly at night. Wish I was joking.
is knowing that other people have indelible images in their heads from reading this as well.
Thanks for the ressurection. :)
very interesting. gives a nice potted history of DNA evidence starting to be used in criminal cases.
I just finished reading it. A bit of Googling reveals that she's due for trial on the 17th of this month.
They've not scared me, just made me a bit sad that people like that exist. I've started hearing numbers station broadcasts in my dreams though :(((
the suggestion that it's ice rubbing on land or whatever is quite plausible, but that doesn't stop it being really freaky.
Under The Influence by Chemical Brothers.
I'm mildly obsessed with this sort of thing now, I've downloaded the Conet Project discs
<<The Freeway Killer was a nickname given by the media—and later police forces—to what they believed was a single serial killer claiming victims in California, USA during the 1970s and often dumping the victims along the freeways. However, there turned out to be three Freeway Killers who operated independently of each other, but just happened to select similar victims from similar locations.>>
<<The trio of killers claimed at least 110 victims between them. None of them knew each other during their crime sprees, although Bonin and Kraft became acquainted while on Death Row.>>
so three seemingly identical serial killers operating in the same place at the same time then.
and then this detail about one of them:
<<It was also discovered that Kraft kept a coded list of 61 neatly-printed terms and phrases such as "JAIL OUT" and "EDM" in his car. Upon closer investigation, the 61-item list was later discovered to be a cryptic "scorecard" of his many victims---"JAIL OUT" referring to 23-year-old Roland Young (released from the Orange County drunk tank hours before his murder) and "EDM" referring to the initials of Edward Daniel Moore. The list also included four double murders, leading to a total of 65 listed victims. Two of the victims, Eric Church and Terry Gambrel, appear unlisted for unknown reasons. However, since the list is in code, the possibility exists that Eric Church and Terry Gambrel are listed in a way that investigators cannot recognize, which would lead to a total of 67 listed victims. 22 out of the listed 67 victims remain unrecovered and unidentified.>>
<<To date, 22 of Kraft's 67 estimated victims remain unrecovered and unidentified. This is due in part to the killings occurring throughout several states with bodies dumped in varying locations.>>
The creepy polaroid things really get to me http://levelbeyond.com/2008/12/04/shades-of-death-road/
Demon's Alley in New Jersey. The boards over the windows with shades drawn on them really weirds me out.
and makes for an interesting read. Unbelievable they actually got away with this:
LSD was popularised as a recreational drug when many of the early proponents of the drug (Ken Kesey and Timothy Leary, for instance) volunteered to take part in government experiments for a bit of extra cash.
UFO sightings. Also one of the first recorded cases of the Men In Black. I didn't actually know the film was BASED ON A (possible) TRUE STORY.
Anyway, the captain of the boat who saw the 6 objects was greeted my a MAN IN BLACK the next morning and was invited out for breakfast. He was told to be quiet or bad things would happen. He didn't. Him and his boss (who would later be a JFK assassination suspect!) went immediately to the press and collected some debris that had fallen from one of the objects.
These samples and photographs went missing. One of their sons vanished and was later found working in a restaurant in Montana not knowing how he got there stating amnesia. Another witness was oddly recalled to Army service and deployed to Alaska and then Greenland.
The main guy flew to meet with military officials and on his return flight the engine froze mid air but he was able to land the plane safely.
A journalist who was helping them died 2 weeks later. The cause was undetermined.
Air investigators were sent to conduct interviews with everyone involved and on their return journey the plane crashed. Both died.
Also of note is that Roswell happened 12 days after this.
Edward Mordrake (sometimes written Edward Mordake) was reportedly the 19th century heir to an English peerage. He supposedly had an extra face on the back of his head, which could neither eat nor speak, although it could laugh and cry. Edward begged doctors to have his "demon head" removed, because, supposedly, it whispered horrible things to him at night, but no doctor would attempt it. He committed suicide at the age of 23.
*(disclaimer: haven't listened to it personally, but thought it might fit ITT)
THE remains of a woman have been found sitting in front of her TV - 42 years after she was reported missing.
Hedviga Golik, who was born in 1924, had apparently made herself a cup of tea before sitting in her favourite armchair in front of her black and white television.
Croatian police said she was last seen by neighbours in 1966, when she would have been 42 years old.
I still get horrible images in my head sometimes from this thread. The Tara Calico photo still haunts me as I go to sleep.
for most de-friendings in one day.
I'll do mine if you do yours. Whoever loses the most friends buys sandwiches.
I got sucked into reading some theories about Tara Calico's disappearance last night. It's an unpopular theory, but some people believe that she and the little boy were abducted and sold into some sort of slavery or sex ring. That thought disturbs me so much, but not as much as the damn photo. The girl looks just like one of my friends when she was about 14. :(
think i shared it before;
Fritzl looks quite charming in comparison.
But pretty godamn funny.
haunted my dreams for weeks
This tune is magnificent:
Kids on Staten Island grew up with the urban legend of Cropsey -- he was apparently an escaped mental patient that roamed the woods at night snatching up children. In the '70s and '80s, children did start going missing on Staten Island and it was like the Cropsey legend had come true. The documentary is really interesting, as it examines the case of the man that was later charged with the kidnapping and murders of two of the missing children. There seem to be connections with Satanic cults. All in all, pretty chilling.
great article - the whole thing is supremely creepy and sad.
it is still all very sinister though. imagine if there were hotel chains that had guests disappear.
After a woman living in a hotel in Florida was raped, viciously beaten, and left for dead near the Everglades in 2005, the police investigation quickly went cold. But when the victim sued the Airport Regency, the hotel’s private detective, Ken Brennan, became obsessed with the case: how had the 21-year-old blonde disappeared from her room, unseen by security cameras?
better boil the kettle.
(Yes, my looking it up was inspired by Grandpa Simpson's 'I am the Lindbergh baby!')
I'm pretty sure that's sort of based on the idea in some way.
Never read any Christie actually. Should probably address that.
Just watch the three Peter Ustinov films and the Albert Finny film of Orient Express.
Orient Express is one of her better ones so pick up a copy by all means but don't expect characters. There is an interesting line in the book (written c. 1936) where the German maid, referring to the evil kidnappers, says something like, "We Germans could never be so wicket".
i've been terrified ever since i read it.
can we have some more, please?
Its an owl as big as a man with massive claws and glowing red eyes. That's one of the most scary things in the thread!

I was out sick from work with a bad bout of laryngitis for part of last week so I decided to do some research into the Deep Web, which someone mentioned earlier in this thread.
Jesus Christ, it's terrifying. 99% of the Deep Web is benign (university databases, email inboxes, etc.) but there are some very, very disturbed people out there. There are some threads on Reddit posted by people much braver than I that ventured out into the Deep Web.
but this was the most extensive thread. Enjoy!
hope it's ok if i post some background info for people like myself who weren't in the loop:
What a chilling thing just to be able to buy a hitman like it's a loaf of bread
(West Coast represent!) but when I get home, I'll try to find some of the other links in which brave explorers to the Deep Web posted screenshots of things that they had found. Some of it was so incredibly disturbing that I actually had trouble sleeping that night. Some of the stuff I've read says that some of the stuff on the Deep Web is just trolling taken to another level, but it still scares the hell out of me.
i'm thinking of something like rotten, which was a big gross out hit with us when we were in high school.
probably not. Things from the Deep Web do occasionally show up on the "regular" internet -- for example, a lot of the people on /b/ lurk on the Deep Web then post disturbing shit on 4chan. It quickly gets taken down because it's too gross even for 4chan.
I learned way too much about the Deep Web while I was sick. The CIA is probably going to show up at my house any day now!
Apparently there's this guy, now I'm not sure how true this is but there was an onion site for it and everything... Looked incredibly legit... Sorry I'm procrastinating because I don't want to retell this story because it's horrific but...
There's this guy who lives somewhere in eastern Europe... And apparently he takes kids from orphanages because they have over crowding problems over there, and he takes these kids and he paralyzes them so they can't move but they can see etc. and he removes their arms and legs so they're like flipper babies, and sells them to people and explains how to take care of them in great detail and he talks about it so frankly and fuck it's just the worst thing in the world. I'd look for the story but I really don't want to.
Thanks for listening. I'm going to go dip my head in a sink of cold water while screaming about how unjust this world is then go and pray that this kind of thing doesn't actually happen.
I found one that was basically like a "mad scientist" -- don't remember where he was, but he would essentially kidnap people that "wouldn't be missed" (i.e. the homeless, prostitutes, etc.) and then do medical experiments on them. I honestly didn't read any further because even if that's just massive trolling, it's enough to give me nightmares. :'(
It wasn't only what he did though, it was the way he was so casual and professional about the whole thing, and went into great detail about what you'd have to do to keep them alive... And the way they'd still be alive but completely helpless... Made me wonder if it's even possible for people to be that evil... Just horrible.
It was enough for me never to investigate the deep web ever again.
I'm sticking to the Reddit threads from people that got ripped off trying to buy drugs on the Deep Web.
it's a fake.
It's the dark woods of the internet, where all the dark horses hang out
it was like all the walls came crashing down when I discovered it. I lost all sense of direction. Don't know what to believe anymore.
GET OUT OF THIS THREAD AND STOP READING THE BLOODING LINKS IN THE THREAD, AND FORGET THSI THREAD EVER EXISTED!!
'Chemtrails' lately. Weird.
...think it may be time to put on my tin foil hat
The first kid to be on the side of a milk carton - and the painful thing is, they think they know what happened but can't prove it...
A child prodigy who wrote two novels by the time she was 14, then walked out of the house one day and was never seen again:
All three of these articles were incredibly interesting. I'd read a bit about Etan Patz. Somewhere up thread, I linked to the documentary "Cropsey" about a string of missing children cases in New York in the late 70s and 80s.
I'd never heard of Barbara Follett but her story was incredibly interesting and heartbreaking. She disappeared from my former home, Brookline, MA, which makes it even more chilling.
I had never heard of the Georgia Guidestones, either. How strange are they? I wonder who has been responsible for the vandalism...
I love this shit. <3 you, scary door!
but I'll this it anyway.
It's a great thread.
i read this earlier, a whole lot of creepy missing persons storie sin one place:
but also harrowingly sad. That list of what happened to most of Ali's opponents, jesus christ.
obviously those crew members are committing suicide, or otherwise going off the edge whilst in pursuit of extremely ill-advised shabs and bants. What is an eye opener is how frequently it happens, and how easily Disney and the like have been able to file it under the carpet.
I read that one last night. I predict a Hollywood movie within our lifetime.
There's a new theory or something, I wasn't paying 100 per cent attention...
only to find it's already been extensively covered here. Buggeration. Scared the shit out of me when I first read about it when I was 15 or so.
Not for the squeamish. Makes you sad about human beings for what Karla did to her sister.
Late last week, there were terrible tornadoes in the American south and midwest. Some people are convinced that these tornadoes and other natural disasters are actually caused by HAARP. The Wikipedia page is pretty straightforward, but there are all sorts of websites and books out there about the conspiracy theory surrounding this. It's also linked to Chemtrails. Spooky!
if we're going to go off the basis that batshit conspiracy theories are spoooky we'll need a whole new thread..
but longform has done another guide on slate and this time it's on Skip Hollandsworth, the Texas Monthly guy who wrote that article on Dean Corll. Just reading the first one now. Pretty fucking gruesome.
The Trial by Fire piece linked at top of the story is harrowing as well.
It was fascinating and an incredibly well written piece of journalism.
The Naree Pon are tiny humanoid creatures from Thailand that are believed to be a cross between an animal and a plant. Buddhist legend says they were beautiful women that grew from a tree like fruit, then would jump off the branch to sing and dance for a couple of weeks and then shrivel up and die.
Scientists in Thailand have studied them but are stumped. I think they knew that the scientists at the US will do even better so they sent in a sample. What the scientists got from their findings was that it's plant material with other unknown materials. They also did an x-ray of it but no bone structure was found however there are external bone-like structures like a jutting vertebrae like thing at the back. The "specialists" also said that the fetus have big heads.
the scariest thing for me was the realisation of the 'deep web', intriguing but scary
But the Rake is going to ruin your shit regardless.
i hope they find something
might finally be about to get some closure
so much for ''the evidence points squarely at Jose Ramos''
Pretty incredible story.
oh dear god
Imagine seeing that beast coming down the street.
And I can finally contribute. This was in the 'funny old world' section in Private Eye last week. Don't read if you're eating...
>>Everything was done by consent, Naso insisted. Asked how it was that so many women went along with his requests to strip naked and be bound and photographed, he was boastful. "I can probably get half the women in this room to disrobe voluntarily," he said.<<
on the day I was born ;(
Mason County Sheriff George Johnson commented that he believed the sightings were due to an unusually large heron he termed a "shitepoke".
This guy should name every newly discovered animal.
that frightens me the most. My parents live in a neighborhood that borders a forest. When I lived there and came home after dark, I'd make a mad dash into the garage because I was convinced the Mothman was lurking in the woods. :(
No, my parents don't live in Pennsylvania so there's no reason for this. Mothman just really scares me.
but the video footage of this:
is probably the most disturbing, harrowing thing i've ever seen. discretion advised, if you are going to watch the video i advise turning it off halfway through because it goes all the way. one image in particular has stayed with me...
but the whole thing is terrifying: the sheer speed it happens, the visible panic (the guitarist on the left at the start of the video was killed, incidentally, and the 'oh shit' look he does..yeah, pretty grim stuff)
missing dogs, horses and PEOPLE KILLED ON ALL HALLOW'S EVE D:
Robert Joseph White (January 21, 1926 – September 16, 2010) was an American surgeon, best known for his head transplants on living monkeys.
Houses, rivers, haystacks and other obstacles were travelled straight over, and footprints appeared on the tops of snow-covered roofs and high walls which lay in the footprints' path, as well as leading up to and exiting various drain pipes as small as four inches in diameter.
it's one of the best ones and everything
just crushingly depressing
