Meditation
Disclaimer: this is very much a "first world problems" thread. I will look back on this in 6 weeks' time and make fun of myself for being a massive wuss.
I've got a pretty fucking ridiculous deadline-packed schedule in the next month or so and I'm getting stressed and anxious to the point that I feel like I'm expending more energy on worrying about things than actually sorting stuff out (case in point: I'm making this thread instead of getting back to work).
Has anyone successfully tried meditation as a way to lower their anxiety levels when they're busy? I once tried The Meditation Podcast to combat some travel anxiety but it was too hippy-dippy-bullshitty for me. I don't care about my chi, or realigning my auras, or embracing my spiritual side; I just want to lower my heart rate and calm down enough that I spend more time getting stuff done than worrying about not getting stuff done.
