Thursday Gaming Thread
Speaking of E3, for someone not at all fussed about Kinect or the Nintendo Why? Pad and just likes to play with a damn controller, there hsn't been a whole lot worth getting excited about. Despite not being overly excited about Skyrim prior to the conference one 6 minute playthrough has me salivating over the new engine. Dragons! Giants! Big swords! On the FPS front Battlefield 3 steals the show with some scarily realistic graphics and interesting shifts in the class system. For third person action fans Assassins Creed looks pretty good (although with precious little stealth or assassinations on show) and the Arkham City dudes unveiled Catwoman. Personally I don’t want to play 10% of a Batman game as selina but I’m sure I’ll get over it, seeing as everything else about it looks spectacular.
Anything else?
What’s everyone playing? I’ve spent the week playing lots of Frozen Synapse, a PC game which is an odd turn based strategy, only with both sides taking their turns simultaneously. It plays like a weird blend of xcom and the planning stages of the early Rainbow Six games, and whilst fiddly and awkward at first it's a blast to play once you get the hang of it.
