Yesterday I felt a bit like a patriarch for the first time ever
My family have pretty much all been asking me how they should vote on the referendum for about a week now. I managed to turn my mum, little brother, brother in law, and I think my sister (as yet unconfirmed) from no to yes. Meths made his own mind up but then again meths voted for the Natural Law Party in 1997.
Anyway this reminded me of canvassing in Muslim areas of South London during the election last year and being told by veiled ladies that their husband/father decides for them and he's not in. Never knew what to say to this. The only polite thing was to say "ok thanks, have a look at this leaflet".
And now I'm a patriarch. I hope they start deferring to me on all issues from now on.
