Where do you think has the most beautiful landscape in the world?
At the risk of sounding like Richard Littlejohn, I honestly think it's the English countryside - rolling fields and meadows, village greens, quiet woods, thatched cottages and lonely churchyards - the very stuff of England.
On Monday I spent about three hours on a wild goose chase around north-west Essex, and had to keep stopping because of how lovely everything was. Every village is picture postcard, every view was sublime. It made me want to read John Clare and Rupert Brooke and listen to Elgar. Maybe it's imprinting - I've been subliminally brought up in a culture that values this. I don't know.
So keep your Icelandic glaciers or whatever. I'm keeping it old school.
