Wonderful Wednesday Football Thread
Chelsea comfortably beat Copenhagen (not an SP) 2-0 with a double from Anelka. Not sure if Ancellotti is trying to move the team into a 4-4-2 formation for realsies, but some of the movement last night looked good (against a weak team of course). some good balls from Torres to Anelka, who also made a couple of good moves in and around the box. I'm sure the focus this morning will be on him not scoring though.
Elsewhere, QPR scored two late goals to claim a home win against Ipswich, whilst DiS writer Dom Gourlay dropped a bollock on Facebook after Forest made it 2-1 with a late goal, only for Preston to pull it back to 2-2 seconds later.
Tonight, Man Utd play Marseilles away. With United missing so many key players the smart money might be on a draw/home win, but i think we'll sneak it. Hopefully after a Heinze balls-up.
Bayern Munich also play Inter Milan in a replay of last years Champions League final, with both teams looking considerably worse than last season.
Shay Given is out for the season it seems with a shoulder injury, and so it's not unreasonable to say he's probably played his last game for City before moving onto a mid-table team.
Any other business?
