Parking Doom
Partially inspired by seeing a list of parking charges yesterday, and also news of not allowing parking on pavements on some residential streets.

Seems a bit harsh that they'd not allow parking on a street, particularly if you've forked out for a resident's permit. I don't see the problem with parking partially on the pavement if it leaves a bit more space on the road. If you stop people parking outside their homes, they're going to have to put their cars somewhere else anyhow.
Parking in town is fairly ridiculous too, couldn't find anywhere to park within five minutes of the studio yesterday that wasn't a 1hr only. Ended up leaving the car near an industrial unit 10 mins walk away to avoid paying the £15 or so it've cost to put it in one of the multi-storeys. Annoys me that on the occasions when I do want to drive into town (e.g. when I've got a bootload of equipment to move around) that it's such a pain in the arse to do so. With high streets struggling to compete with the 'internets' seems a bit daft that councils are trying to price people out of visiting.
Anyway, anyone else have problems parking? £18 for four hours in London? Madness.
