House of the Devil
Finally got to see this tonight.
Real nice looking movie. I really like that this is a horror film that isn't afraid to take it's time, pitching atmosphere and anticipation over cheap jump-scares (shit horror films) or repetitive gory 'shocks' (post-Saw mainstream horror films).
Obviously not the most original film, what with it being somewhat of a throwback to the late 70s/early 80s, compared to so much recent stuff it's a real breath of fresh air.
also on the cards for my flats horror evening - Pontypool ("zombie" movie with an original concept and without zombies) and The Horde (basically a zombie war movie, think Left 4 Dead in French).
Probably winding up with Shaun of the Dead as a light-hearted cool down.
