Laser Quest
is a bit like drinking- when you're young you can do it without worrying about consequences, but as you start to get a bit older you become conscious of the world of pain you will be in in the morning.
Yesterday for my birthday my awesome gf organised me a suprised laser quest party with my crew, first time I've been in about 10 years. It was as amusing as I remembered it being, though it needed more dry ice. It was a bit surreal afterwards being in 'party room 2' surrounded by star wars cut outs (original trilogy, mind) eating jelly snakes... I'm definitely no longer sure when I'm being ironic. It was quite fun standing in the middle of the 'combat arena' and spinning round firing my laser gun shouting 'aarrrggghh' though...
There's also something really 90s about Laser Quest as well- there was a big picture outside of some guy with curtains dressed as an extra out of Friends shooting another guy wearing combat trousers.. the bowling alley down the road also had amazing retro 90s vibe. (Though this may just be a Nottingham thing? Are all bowling alleys 90s?)
Anyway, let's hear it for laser quest!
