How do you console someone over a loved one's death?
My grandma on my Dad's side died this morning. While I'm obviously upset, it's my Dad I'm thinking more to be honest. He's got no parents left and he lived under her whip quite a lot in the past few years as her general condition deteriorated.
He's evidently not slept properly, if at all, but when he told me this morning he wasn't breaking down or anything. He seems to be coping well but...what do I say? What can I do? Just be there for him, giving unwavering support?
I was away when my Dad's father died three years ago so I never really felt the impact around the house or knew what to do.
Also there's now gonna be a big three-way inheritance scrap 'tween my Dad and his two brothers. ALSO the funeral could be at the same time as Bestival. I might need to sell my ticket.
nnnnyyuurrrr this sucks
