what's your favourite hitchcock?
He's good isn't he? What i like about him is that if you just want to watch a film and have an exciting, entertaining time he's got it covered. But if you do decide to go a bit deeper there's tonnes of extra stuff in there. It's a bit like when you finish the first layer of a box of milk tray and it was super delicious and then holy shit, there's a whole 'nother layer underneath...
I'm reading up a lot on Vertigo at the minute because i've got to teach it next year and i got to say it's pretty fascinating stuff, but Rear Window is still the one for me.
The whole film is so tight, no fat whatsoever. An excellent story told with maximum efficiency and style.
