Hi Doctor DiS!
Hi there. Advice plz, as I can't see a doctor until the end of the month, and anyway I want a general consensus from my favourite indie music message board.
1. I have serious sleep issues. I sleep incredibly lightly. I wake up early in the morning (usually 4am ish). I NEED an early evening nap (5 - 7pm) or I just cannot function after about 9pm. If I don't have a nap I usually wake up about 6am. This has been going on since about September/October-ish. I'm tired all the time,
2. Last May I had mumps and swine flu at the same time. I was bed-ridden for about two weeks (PROPERLY bed-ridden, all I did was sleep). As soon as I got out of bed I was working two jobs and getting an average of 4 hours of sleep a night, some nights only 45mins. This stopped in September when I went back to uni, but that's when all the above started.
3. I started taking 20mg Fluoxetine for anxiety/depression in September too. I complained about my sleep every time I saw the doctor and was prescribed Zopiclone in December. This worked for a while but completely wore off after about a week. In January I was prescribed daily 40mg Fluoxetine which also helped for a few weeks, but now things are the same as they were at the start.
Do you think I could have done myself some kind of permanent damage from not letting myself recover properly?
What shall I do about it now? (DOCTOR OBVS.)
Has anyone had any sort of problems like this before? I just dunno what to do anymore, I used to sleep fine - brilliantly in fact.
