Will buying a car make me cool?
I've been considering taking driving lessons for the last year or so, but there's little evidence to suggest it's worth the money. It's a common misconception that men buy cars because they need to get to work, supermarkets, their nan's house etc. Most of these things can easily be achieved by walking and public transport.
As far as I can tell, there is one essential reason guys choose to spend hundreds of pounds a month on petrol and insurance, only to be forced into giving their little brother lifts, do booze runs and so on. It can be divided into two categories, the first being that mentioned in the title and the second being to pull of girls, although you could safely argue that these are roughly the same thing.
I'd like to hear both sides of the argument, so men, did you demand more respect from the opposite sex when you started driving, or are you still the kind of pathetic loser likely to post threads about your success with females on popular music boards? And women, say there was a 33.333 % chance you'd get in bed with me beforehand, how would that percentage change once I got behind the wheel?
I appreciate your thoughts :)
