Films that you've seen recently
I've seen a fair few films recently. You? Let's talk about them.
The Wolfman- Bit gory, which is never a bad thing, but predictably low on story. Worth watching for all the eviscerating and Emily Blunt. 6/10
A Single Man- Very good, very beautiful and very touching. Enjoyed a whole lot. Loses marks for having Matthew Goode in it and for being the sort of film that attracted more ' I get that, LOOK AT ME' sorts than any other film I've seen. 8/10
The Princess and the Frog- Wasn't made for me. Was pertubed at the end when a lost French child called me 'papa' upon exiting. 4/10
The Lovely Bones: Insipid, sentimental frippery but still managed to be better than the pretty damn awful book. Mark Wahlberg, although not giving an outstanding performance by an measure, at least managed to come across as a convincing human being for once. 5/10
Up- Watched it on DVD, having already seen it. Still wonderful. 9/10
Thirst- Missed it at the cinema but finally saw it last week. Amazing stuff. Perhaps the least off-the-wall Korean film I've seen too, so the easiest to follow. Nice to know that the current vampire zeitgeist has produced a few great films. 10/10
In the coming weeks, I will mostly be watching The Crazies, Ponyo and Kick-Ass.
Now you.
