1260 Double-McTwist (Thursday Winter Olympics Thread)
The Snowboard halfpipe final was incredible. I fully understand the hype about Shaun White now - absolutely stunning. Huge credit to Kokubo for making his runs look absolutely effortless (more to come from him in future methinks) and Louis Vito for his 1440. Steina (sic?) continues to disappoint, now doing nothing than parrot what's already been said.
What little I saw of the double luge was pretty good, although all too short. Seemed that if you didn't get a good start you stood no chance, which was a pity.
Womens Downhill... huge crashes in places. Only watched up till the medal places were sorted, but looked to me that the snow was too rough for decent alpine skiing (although I know very little about the sport). Very difficult conditions for sure.
Curling - I'm still definitely in favour. Some great stuff being played last night by the British and Swedish. The French... not so much. They were murdered by our guys team.
But Shaun White. Wow. If you haven't seen the final highlights, do.
Hope he found his facemask in the end.
