Torn halfway between laughter and total disgust. So, exactly how all the best comedy should make you feel.
I think like most people I found out about him through Newswipe, and I can imagine him to be quite an extreme nihilistic Bill Hicks type live.
I don't really know much about Stanhope, aside from on Newswipe (where he's far and away the best thing on it).
Seems to be a recurring theme in his comedy
Him and David Attenborough should hang out.
It's a lot less sneering than it used to be. Most of the segments are genuinely interesting and thought provoking. I'd still agree that Stanhope is my personal highlight, but I don't think you can write off the series. Feels like Brooker's operating a little out of his comfort zone, which makes for a much better watch.
It was mildly amusing, surely there must be better ones?
As for Stanhope, my friend is a big fan and bought tickets to see him, only to completely forget about the gig. He played here recently again.
Is on the Joe Rogan podcast this week: http://blog.joerogan.net/archives/2520 Prob worth a listen.
but that excuse for a joke is the worst thing ever and nobody can make it funny cos it's so lame. "Comedians tell this to other comedians" WHOOP DE DOO. Please tell it, then follow it up with a boring discussion on what makes it funny pleeease comedians. That film is the worst. And they could have at least used a proper camera instead of filming the entire thing on someone's phone.
Props to the baby for trying to rescue that one!
