Let's talk about The Wire...
I just saw the episode where Stringer gets taken out. Marlo inherits the game by sheer luck, when you think about it. Anyway, I start season 4 tonight. Only the second time I've seen it, but it's awesomely awesome anyway.
I noticed something, too: Rawls seemed fairly interested in Colvin's Hamsterdam experiment. He was the only one who read the letters from the citizens, was noticeably quiet while Burrell (Burell? Burrel?) was tearing Colvin a new one...then did a 180 when he gave the go-ahead for the crackdown.
I also spotted a little Apocalypse Now reference during this part (a helicopter pilot sees a cop capture some hopper and says, "Outstanding. I'll getcha a case of beer for that.")
Avon only got the remainder of his seven years, yes? I can't remember if he eventually got more, but seven seems like little time for a gangster of his stature. I hope he'll be out and take down that motherfucker Marlo, man.
So yeah, it's harder watching season 4 because you know the fates of all the kids. But, since I found 5 underwhelming, I may simply disregard it like I did with godfather III and the two Matrix sequels, and pretend something else happened instead (in my mind, Morpheus banged Trinity and popped Oak Boy right in the face).
!!SPOILERS!!
