buying second hand stuff - advice needed
so I'm thinking about buying a synth. I've seen a few offers of various synths from people selling them second hand.
One in particular is catching my eye. The guy is based in London (me in York) but just by coincidence I'll be in London this weekend.
The synth in question is about £200 - ie not horrendously expensive, but enough for me to be wary about handing over to a complete stranger, and enough to make me feel pretty gutted if the synth turns out to be faulty.
If I were to go ahead with the purchase, of course I hope to arrange a meeting in a public place in the middle of the day, and maybe with someone else there as a witness (yeah, 'mtfu' i hear you cry...)
Is there anything else I can do? Could I obtain some sort of legal document to use in case of any problems later? Or a receipt!? Would it be ridiculous to suggest we meet somewhere with a plug socket so I could try it out?
Anyone done anything like this? I wouldn't normally be so wary but £200 is not an insignificant amount of money.
