Wellity wellity wellity... City come from a goal behind to beat United 2-1 in the Manchester derby. My take on the night's events? I'm very, very surprised by how triumphant the media have been. Personally I thought City were dire, especially in the first half. They played ridiculously deep and put in one of the worst passing performances I've ever seen a team that went on to win the game put in. De Jong is a beast of a tackler but his distribution seems pretty damn awful. I'd suggest this defeat will only sting Fergie because it's City. An away goal and a very slight loss in the first leg of a tie, with a trip to Old Trafford still to come, probably won't be considered too bad a result by him whereas City, with all the supposed momentum, United's recent defensive frailties and the hostile atmosphere at Eastlands, should really have pushed for more. I predicted a City win yesterday but was disappointed with the game. Fancy United to win the tie at home.
Right, other stuff... Villa host Blackburn tonight in the 2nd leg of their League Cup semi-final, Arsenal could go top on goal difference if they beat Bolton by 2 or more goals tonight, West Ham's part-change in ownership has seen them linked with Alan Hutton and Bobby Zamora, Essien's injury may force Chelsea to do some business this January afterall, Pompey look absolutely done for and Pele has put his neck on the line and tipped Spain to win the World Cup.
Also, Mali have lodged a complaint after going out of the ACoN. Seems to me that they should have just not lost to Algeria really. Anyone who thinks they should go through because they scored more goals is a bit of a pleb.
