Tried to keep it that way but misused it as some kind of chat system at times which resulted in about 4 'unfollows' a time. Had two arguments with an ex on it.
whiterussian is proud to be on my hitler jugend list.
I also have 3 other ones related to work and a private one.
but every so often he tweets these really weird personal-sounding tweets that make no sense, can only presume they're directed at some individual, but why tweet them?
and enjoying following fishplums, theo, guntrip and a few other DiSsers. Brainlove seems to use it more than he uses DiS, which is an interesting sign of the times (or maybe I don't notice his DiS posts as much)
as long as you invest the time finding things/people that interest you, it's a really great way of getting an overview of opinions on topics that interest you and to get tipped off on things to read, music to check out, good tv, film recommendations, etc.
really easy to digest and is far from lotsa people saying what they have for breakfast, if anyone does that unfollow them and seek out more interesting folks.
that most people's perception of twitter is akin to pointless facebook statuses, or breakfast tweets as you say. it put me off at first, i have to admit, but now it's one of the windows that i'm constantly keeping open. blog upddates, gig announcements, downloads...it's great, basically
we're pondering ways of getting some of the usefulness of it in sync with DiS' ambitions of being useful and offering a wealth of content, as well as a focussed look at the best bits which filter to the top or we hand pick for people's attention.
I only really use it as an RSS reader.
Because I'm too stupid to understand an actual RSS reader.
twitter is more complicated than rss
Clicking 'Follow'?
Whats twitter>?
its like real life but not
Sounds good
i thought this was facebook?
ya i still use it sometimes
mainly to go OMG KRAFTWERK
i use it
only really to promote the band's stuff though.
it's relatively fun. nowhere near as life consuming as things like facebook can be though. suppose that's a good thing.
yep
me
yeah!
well not for a few days but normally yes. More followers would be good though ;) ;) ;) ;)

;)
yes.
a fair few DiSers do.
yep, too much probably
as i'm sure some of you will agree!
you couldn't possibly use twitter too much!
creepy
as always
i gave it up. mostly because of your inane tweets!
:o
inane never! excessive, perhaps

hahahaha!
i'll email you now x
let's have lunch at Popham Little Chef
me
using it more and more, and getting more and more out of it. OH MY GOD I'VE BECOME A FUCKING ADVERT
what are you an advert FOR though?
surely you can't be an advert for twitter.
If you start a supergroup
I WILL FUCKIN END YOU
i should follow that guy on twitter
and see if i can chip away at his self-esteem until he does a stephen fry-esque huff-off
Find out where he lives
and go piss on his chips.

i miss when you just used to tweet "twitter"
is that some way of saying you find my tweets worse than just one repeated word? :(
......
Did anybody else see that MSNBC got their account hacked?
http://www.techcrunch.com/2009/11/06/msnbc-having-a-bad-friday-nsfw/
started for techy stuff
and as a glorified rss feed.

If people don't use it for business
ie media feeding off other media, I don't see the point of this. Any 'civilian' following it is just a stalker, surely.
I follow tech and music blogs mostly
and research interests, couple of disers and some people I know.
I try to tweet stuff related to my research/music/tech but I get distracted
i'm following some pitchfork fella
but every so often he tweets these really weird personal-sounding tweets that make no sense, can only presume they're directed at some individual, but why tweet them?
yeh
the '@' conversations are annoying even though I'm guilty of it
but that's the thing -
they're tweeted without an @ - maybe he doesn't understand how to work it
still? it's pretty new is it not?
i use it, i think it's great for updates on free downloads, record releases, gigs etc.
the other day, for example, i found out exactly what time a band was going to be on stage that night, which is pretty handy info
the only thing that pisses me off about it really is the constant stream of X Factor tweets
yes, lots

i've started putting together some recommended people that i like following but is far from complete http://twitter.com/#/list/seaninsound/recommended-twitterers
good assessment.
your experience/opinion of twitter depends on who or what you're following.
goto a shit pub
and the conversation will be shit, etc
