Inglourious Basterds is the most enjoyable film I’ve seen in two years
As a sucker for revenge films I thought it was start to finish brilliant – violent, dramatic and a bit silly. The most enjoyable aspect is that Quentin Tarantino seems to have learned to do suspense well – at least half a dozen scenes involve really effectively building tension over a long period of time, instead of the usual INSTANT MEGACARNAGE.
The only criticism I have is SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER that the conceit they used to bring about the surrender of the Nazi officer was a bit contrived and not in keeping with the character up to that point but SPOILERSOVER it’s a small gripe.
