Deforestation
"In Brazil deforestation is responsible for more than half of carbon emissions, while across the world it is blamed for up to 20% of the gases that are said to be heating the planet."

That's a crazy amount, which has a massive impact globally, obvs. As many of today's global warming problems have been caused by the 'developed' world, OECD countries should be helping countries like Brazil control deforestation, right?
Would it be feasible for countries like Britain (publicly or privately) to invest in land in forests, thereby creating a source of revenue for the country and indigenous people and allowing more resources to be used for guarding and protecting the land, and therefore reducing deforestation?
