lame comparisons (or: reactions to hearing that miller's crossing was meant to be the best gangster film since the godfather)
i saw miller's crossing last night and on the dvd case there was a quote by some drooling moron stating that it was the most wonderful and epic gangster film since the godfather. so my expectations were naturally high. having now seen it, i have to say that i really struggle to see any kind of major similarities or grounds for even mentioning the two in one breath. it's not the same kind of film at all, and miller's crossing is nothing to really write home about. even untouchables was better than this, for crying out loud. and even if it had been a really good film - did goodfellas not happen, or what?
in conclusion: idiots.
