Neutering rabbits.
I have two male bunnies. They are brothers and were best of friends until Fred started to grow a bit bigger than Oscar and started using his increased size to his own sexual gain and now humps poor Oscar, much to Oscar's distress. Oscar has been provided with a temporary home in the form of the spare bedroom, allowing him to escape from Fred's rather aggresive advances, but he's chewed all the skirting boards and ripped off bits of the wallpaper. Meanwhile Fred has to be padlocked in his cage as in his frustration and desperation to find his mate, he's figured out how to undo the latch.
My dilema is whether or not they (or really just Fred) should have the snip or not. How much will it cost? Where would I go; a petshop or vets? Will it be easier, cheaper and less cruel to buy a seperate cage (it was £60 for the first one)?
I'm not really keen on the idea of them being seperated, they got on so well at first, always spooned each other to get to sleep, grooming each other and all the rest of it. Fred's also begun to bite Oscar and me, which neither of them ever did before. Will having his balls cut calm him down and stop him from nibbling my flesh?
