has anyone received an email regarding mobiles and making them ex-directory?
''Apologies for this if you alreay know about it but just in case...
One of the directory services has bought mobile numbers from online shopping
, alumni and other sites. To opt out of listing (ex directory), turn your
phone on because they will send you a text that needs to be dealt with.
Go into www.118800.co.uk and pick the ex directory icon (upper right side
when I did it for my phone just now) and follow instructions. Only takes a
couple of minutes (you enter your phone then wait 5-10 mins till they send
you text with a number then enter that, then it is done) Must do by end of
day 17 June bec service starts up 18 June. If you do not do this, you will
be subjected to lots of txts from directory service asking if ok to give
your number to some specific inquirer, including from junk mail
providers-the latter apparently all excited about this new opportunity for
advertising. Those of you with children who have phones on your accts may
wish to de-list-they are not supposed to list children's phones but if the
phone registered to an adult (parent) then it will be listed unless you opt
out.
Please pass on''
what? is this a bullshit scam or real???
