Professional football pretty much needs a complete overhaul to give it a new angle and appeal to a new market, yeah?
Yeah.
I have a plan which will
- reduce player wages to a standard level across all players and all divisions
- in turn reducing the mass debt felt across football as a whole
- allow pretty much anyone to play the game, at the highest level
- give the fans greater control of what happens during the game
- give players a chance to interact with the fans, as opposed to only the fans voices being heard for 90 minutes
sounds to good to be true? Strap yourself in.
The main change I propose is that the players on the pitch are attached by rope, probably by the arms, to the fans in the stands. Want your central midfielder to make a surging run into the box? Pass the rope along the stand, get the fans to pull the player towards you. Diving headers from corners aplenty. Want the keeper to dive to his right to try and save the last minute penalty? Pull the rope as hard as you can towards you.
You're probably getting the gist by now.
This way all players are pretty much equal; and if your team loses then you've not really got anyone to blame but yourself. The players can have a go at the fans if the team don't perform well. Anyone can play, even rotating entire teams every week. You could be in the stand one week, and on the pitch the next.
This is just the idea in embryo, I can see that some creases may need to be ironed out. Whaddya reckon? I guess what I need is a financier, in the first place.
In other news, I went out last night and got slightly drunk with some mates. We talked a lot of bollocks at each other. This thread may or may not be as a result of one of those conversations
