Detective/mystery fiction
Could anyone recommend some? I'm not sure if any of this stuff is likely to be proper good but I was reading about all that Golden Age detective fiction with locked-room mysteries, where it's basically inviting the reader to try and work out how a seemingly physically impossible murder could be solved. Sounds intriguing, but probably often badly written because it's basically a big puzzle.
Basically anyone but Agatha Christie or Edgar Allan Poe, who I already know about. And not those Usbourne Puzzle books even though they were great.
