Morning all. Lots to get through...
Steve Bruce takes the Sunderland job with a three year contract claiming it's the "perfect step". Nail Quinn feels "invigorated" by the appointment while Dave Whelean thanks Bruce for his time at Wigan. In demand Swansea manager Martinez is said to be Wigan's first choice for their vacancy but Swansea say they are "miles apart" in their valuation of compensation.
The Kaka saga should be over by Monday with the finial decision resting with Kaka himself according to Berlusconi. Chelsea deny having made a bid, but Milan and Real Madrid appear to have agreed on the details between the clubs. Of course, the timing of the "final decision" has nothing to do with the European election today.
Elsewhere, Carvalho says he's ready to leave Chelsea to find first team football and Everton agree new contracts with Joseph Yobo, Tim Howard and Phil Jagielka - David Moyes being pleased with the fact that the deals weren't negotiated through the press. Lucas Neil turns down a 1 year deal at West Ham.
Manchester United find a replacement for AIG with insurance giant Aon Corporation signing up from 2010/11. Rumour is the deal's worth £20m a season, up from £14 with the previous deal. Anyone heard of them? No, neither have I, although none of us knew who AIG were a couple of years ago either.
In the football league, Reading continue to pursue Watford boss Brendan Rogers and Kenny Jackett commits to Milwall with a three year contract. Barry Fry denies that Wigan have approached Peterborough for Darren Ferguson. Lincoln sign 20 year old Jamie Clarke on a one year contract and Port Vale say they have £1m to spend, amongst the highest budgets in League 2.
Aberdeen say they're in no rush to sign a manager, while ex-Stockport boss is a strong favourite with the bookies for the Hibs job after his redundancy last month.
Merthyr Tydfil get a two week reprieve from yesterday's winding up order to see how their application for entering administration goes.
Any more? Who's transfer saga is going to bore us all to death this summer?
