Sol Campbell chants prosectuion
http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/uk/crime/article6295942.ece
So apparently two people have been done for shouting “Come on gay boy, that’s my gay boy”. Now I get the rhythm that that it would have been done to, but the words? That's my gay boy? Very odd.
Also:
The video footage also showed other chants which were shouted by up to 2,500 fans, including abusive chants of a sexual nature.
So "that's my gay boy" was much worse than the rest of it? Confused.com
Now I've been to football matches at most levels, and this prosecution seems a bit odd. Surely every week somewhere in the country someone wheels out "with a packet of sweets and a cheeky smile..." and isn't that worse? Unless the issue here is the open homophobia, whereas it's fine to dislike paedophiles. Which might make sense. Where is the line? Where should it be? Is it OK that players with short dreadlocks piled up on their head get called pineapple head? (It probably is isn't it?) Is it OK that long haired and/or swarthy players get caravan jokes and such(it's probably not is it..)
Your thoughts below please. Especially if you know they actually chanted something entirely different and the times is just being pathetic.
