Breaking news is that Roy Keane is now officially the new Ipswich Town manager. Wonder how close he comes to (relative) success there before he bottles it? In other Championship news, Nigel Clough has suggested as many as 10 Derby players will be released at the end of the season as he attempts to build a promotion worthy side.
Samuel Eto (or however it's spelt. Is there another 'o'? And a comma?) claims he turned down a move to Man City last summer and will do the same this summer if, as reports suggest they will, City make a new bid.
Utd put one hand on the Premier League trophy with a 2-0 win over Portsmouth as Paul Scholes makes his 600th appearance for the club. Apparently Fergie hasn't had even one enquiry about Scholes' availability, ever.
Was at the Chelsea-Everton match last night and there was a palpable feeling of exhaustion from nigh-on everyone. Neither side seemed to ip for it, both sets of fans were a bit subdued (some train problems meant the stadium wasn't full until about 20 minutes in which didn't help) and the ref had a shocker. Wouldn't let the game flow, seemed oblivious to the advantage rule, should have given a penalty against Alex, almost certainly should have dismissed whoever it was who checked Malouda as the last man. The last 4 league games between Chelsea and Everton have all ended as draws, with all but one finishing goalless. The league cup semis last year were a tad more interesting though, so the final may yet be interesting...
