(or What To Do When The Team You've Supported Forever No Longer Exists)
Alan Shearer
Scots sent home for boozing it up - George Burley takes exception. Which is akin to Pete Doherty being offended by someone's drug use, if you ask me
World Cup qualifiers - don't know how you lot are getting on, but things look great (right now) for Denmark. And we've probably got as bad a team right now as we've had in years
And now - Southampton FC's parent company have suspended trading on the stock exchange due to not being able to come up with a half-yearly report, rumoured to be because we were due to give Barclays a sum of money before the end of March which didn't materialise. Whilst not right now in administration, a firm of administrators are on stand by. Financial backing needs to be found in the coming week(s) or forget about points penalties, the club will no longer actually exist.
So, you've got a passion for football and particularly for the team you support, and suddenly they no longer exist - what on earth do you do? It's purely hypothetical at the moment but even if they start from the ground up in the Isthmian or something, could you get behind the team in the same way again? Whilst the total dissolving of the club might be a little way off yet, it's a lot closer now than it has been. And we won't be the only ones in the coming months to find ourselves in this position. What do you do?
