I almost just spent all my rent money buying a walking stick that belonged to Oscar Wilde
I'm not quite sure what happened there. I saw an article in the paper this morning that said Oscar Wilde's prison walking cane was going to be auctioned for an estimated £500, got way too overexcited resulting in the unfathomable logic that 'I should BUY that'. I have never bought anything in an auction before. I don't know anything about antiques. I have no money.
Thank god someone else decided to pay much, much more than me, otherwise I would have had to slink home and tell my flatmates that I'd blown my rent money on magic beans. Or, to be completely accurate, a 100 year old bit of stick.
This is the kind of perfect brane storm that can only happen when it's 24hrs before rent day, you read an article in the paper, you have too much time on your hands at work and are possessed of a feckless chimpanzee brain. (ie. Wednesdays).
Look away, I'm hideous
