Now that's what I call videogames best Boss Battles.... Ever!
There have been some good boss battles in videogames over the years eh?
BUT WHAT ARE YOUR FAVOURITE ONES?
I'll start with a few of mine:
Shadow of the Colossus - Every single one of them was an absolute blinder (quite handily as the game was essentially 20 great Boss battles with some horse riding involved inbetween). From the very first one lumbering past where you panned up towards it and thought 'How the living fuck am I going to kill THAT thing?", via the one that swam underwater and soared over the mountains with you clinging on, to the subdued final boss who just awaited death and hurt you not by violence, but by the sense of loss the land would endure when it had finally been defeated. An epic series of encounters, that I suspect I will replay, again, very soon.
MGS3: The End - My favourite MGS title. The gameplay in all of the games can be a bit hit and miss to me (don't get me started on MGS2), but the end of area fights are often epic. The final one against The Boss in that field was amazing, but for me this was the most rewarding Boss battle I've ever partaken in. A 2 hour sniping session involving hiding, laying traps, precision marksmanship and real brains. A worthy adversary.
I'll leave some for you folks now. But I ought to mention:
Trevelyan (Goldeneye), Resident Evil 4 (El Gigante) and Xenon 2 (that squid thing).
