Thorough Tuesday Football Thread
Monday matches: Inverurie finally got their game against Motherwell to go ahead at the fifth time of asking. Shame they got punted 3-0 to go out of the FA Scottish Homecoming Alec Salmond Memorial Trophy
Tuesday matches: Loads of cancellations this evening have apparently left London police 'happy'. The idea of Cardiff, Swansea, Leeds, Birmingham and Millwall all being in the capital together, and the first two all getting the same trains back to Wales, wasn't amusing them. There are a couple of games that haven't been cancelled yet, including Burnley/West Brom in the Cup and York/Kidderminster in the Trophy.
Transfers: Ah, deadline day. Robbie Keane now has the chance to both win the league and get relegated from the same division in the same season. What an honour. Arshavin deal should go ahead today, apparently. Someone called Queresma has signed for Chelsea. Other moves yesterday include Dacourt, Jo and Basinas, while West Brom have signed some random foreigns as well. Sunderland have signed Calum Davenport on loan as well. Which is nice.
Injuries: Defoe is out for ten weeks apparently, and Emerton will miss the rest of the season for Blackburn. I've never really rated him anyway, every time I watch him I remain unsure of what he actually does.
World Cup: Egypt and South Korea are among twelve venues that have joined the race to host the World Cup in 2018 or 2022. I still like the idea of it being in Russia. They could stagger the times and have a match starting every two hours for 16 hours.
FA Trophy: Havant & Waterlooville v Crawley Town has been postponed tonight. The rescheduled game, in possibly the most annoying football development ever, will be next Monday night. When I'm busy. What a bunch of cocks.
Anything else? Happy with your clubs moves yesterday? Sad at the news that Farsley Celtic and Harrogate Town have joined the long list of non-league clubs in severe financial woes? Booking a holiday to Egypt in 2022? Annoyed the Havant/Crawley clashes with The Thermals? I know I am.
