So, Jamie Oliver's pig programme last night...
Maybe this has already been covered, maybe not. I've spent my day so far waiting for incompetent IT monkeys to fix my computer.
So, 'Jamie Saves Our Bacon' (C4 last night), thoughts? I thought it was great that the issue was given primetime coverage and it's certainly one that should be known about more, however, the integrity of the show was undoubtedly tarnished by fat-tongue Oliver; his lack of presentation skills with regards a serious topic such as this; and his flippant analogies.
The issues themselves (welfare standards of UK vs EU farms, and the subsequent plight of the UK industry) are fairly simple ones to convey, and i can't imagine there'd be much disputing the points that were made, however, by getting oliver to present it, i fear the over-arcing message may have been diluted somewhat. I mean, what the f*ck was that 'pig brother' experiement EVER going to prove.
Anyways, i trust you'll all be buying british pork products from now on.
Cheers.
