Twitter: Are the 'Why?' and 'How?' pages for real?
I'm assuming they're being a bit facetious here. They have a series of quotes that it puts underneath the text such as:
"Twitter is the first thing on the web that I've been excited about in ages." Jason Kottke, Blogger
"When I first started doing it, I thought, 'geez, not another website to worry about updating and checking', but now I'm glad I did it." point_chevalier, livejournaller
"Twitter is the telegraph system of Web 2.0." Nicholas Carr, Author and Technologist
Seriously, who are these nobodies and are these quotes meant to be positive and get you using it?
How about:
"I really like Twitter." Jeff Barr, Amazon.com, Senior Manager
Thanks, Jeff. Or even:
"Twitter is on its way to becoming the next killer app." TIME Magazine
Oooh, so Time magazine say it's got the potential to be important.
Check out the 'Why?' page:
Why? Because even basic updates are meaningful to family members, friends, or colleagues—especially when they’re timely.
* Eating soup? Research shows that moms want to know.
* Running late to a meeting? Your co–workers might find that useful.
* Partying? Your friends may want to join you.
Um...

I'm probably still going to join up because Brooner likes it and I trust him.
