"Art" on Twitter.
So I signed up to Twitter, it being the latest Internet thing that people seem to be going wibbly-kneed about. Seems interesting and all, but I can't see myself really getting into the whole "micro-blogging" side of it. Hypothetical example:
danger: is cutting his toenails because they're becoming a hindrance to my daily life.
World: ...
But it's still an intriguing tool. I've started experimentally following a few different ones, to see if I enjoy using them. For example, there's a haiku one, and a fiction one. All below Twitter's character limit of 140. Which is obviously really short, but that's what I like about it. I'm not committing yourself to reading a book; I haven't gone round the library or round Borders. I'm not even Googling for poetry or fiction websites, they're just going to appear on my iGoogle homepage. I'll glance at them whenever I go there, read them in half a second, and all of a sudden I'll be thinking about something more interesting than the weather.
I wanted to think of something to post about myself, so I've started doing little story prompts....just one tiny line to start off a daydream or something. If you're on Twitter, and you want a look, the address is: http://twitter.com/storyprompt
On a more discussion-based front - because I know you love DiScUsSiOn - do any of you enjoy fiction/poetry/other of this length? Do you use Twitter? Do you know any other places doing similar things, or can you recommend any other Twitterers (right word?) doing something similar?
Or....is there much application for this involving music? I follow DiS' feed, but it just seems the same as the RSS feed which I already get. Maybe there could be band recommendation feed or something?
