Ill or disabled people presenting TV programmes
On last night's Can you Eat an Elephant programmes, one of the chefs and presenter, Fergus Henderson, has Parkinson's disease. It's very noticeable and at times made what he was saying difficult to pick-up. However, it is rare that people with noticeable illness or disabilities get to present on TV, probably because they're not slick enough or can do a piece to camera while walking on a tightrope.
For me I think it's good that people actually mentioned his Parkinson's as the programme was crap.
Should there be more people with noticeable illnesses or disabilities presenting TV shows. Or should they all be A1 specimens like Jeff Stelling or Alexia Chung?
