Kris Commons scores an absolute peach to give Derby a 1-0 victory over Man Utd in the Carling Cup semi-final. Fantastic strike my the lad.
Kris Boydchenko can't agree personal terms with Brum over a reported £3.75m move. Let's hope he sorts that out, Walter will soon lose faith with him when his goals dry up so he'd be better off working under McLeish. Some other first team "star" will have to be sold off to cover the loss of income, Rangers reportedly have to make £3m in January to balance the books...
Similarly, Arsenal and Zenit can't agree payment terms over a possible £20m deal for Andri Arshavin. Seems like a lot of money to me. Do Arsenal really need him?
Charlton lost £11.5m during the last financial year, this follows Ipswich reporting a £5.5m pre-tax loss yesterday. Sounds ominous, this happened in Scotland a few years back with small clubs overspending to try to compete with the big two. It nearly crippled out game and we were talking a fraction of these debts...
Onto the gossip...
Barcelona want Cesc Fabregas and Robin Van Persie. Apparantly they are willing to part with £45m for the pair. That's an awful lot of money but I doubt Arsenal would sell.
David "I love Rangers" Healy has said no to a £1m move to his "boyhood heroes". David, haven't you only played once this season? Would be a good move for all parties concerned. Obviously he's money driven.
Man City want Given for £8m, as do Spurs. Fair price IMO. Given should request the move.
Joey Barton could be on the move again with Portsmouth preparing a £5m bid. FFS Adams, what are you thinking? I wouldn't go near this ned, wouldn't have him at my club. Crablin?
Mark Hughes is determined to get Roque Santa Cruz. This one is dragging out a bit. Seems a bit over priced.
Redknapp wants Fred for £4.5m. That would be a decent aquisition, sensible price too.
Southgate might let Downing leave afterall. He'd be mad not sell him for £15m, that would be a fantastic piece of business, he's not worth that much.
Fergie is after another little known youngster.
Everton might lose out to Middlesbrough in a bid for Alan Smith. They should be going for better targets than him anyway. Davie Moyes really does have a problem shopping for strikers.
Not much interesting football on tonight, what have I missed?
