Was anyone on the westbound Central line train between around 8.40am and 9.10am
that had the tube driver announcing every stop like a pilot coming in to land in a smooth Jamaican brogue? Brilliant
Each sign-off so long he had to start talking again 20 seconds after leaving the previous stop, and if it overran, he wouldn't open the doors until he'd finished his verbiage.
Each stop had a description of current connection issues, location of exits, a few had a bit of history, before the cathcphrase 'Thankyou for riding the Central Line. Wherever you are - wherever you're going - whatever you do - whatever the weather - have yo'selves a lovely day out there today' <pssssh> Doors open. Every 2 minutes. It was like a relaxing bubble bath on the way to work.
