the other day, i learnt something about GCSEs.
now, since i've been in the UK i've had people blabbing on about how hard GCSE's are/were and how they were like INTENSE and more difficult than the Irish equivalent (Junior Cert)
But then, I was informed the other day (and correct me if i'm wrong or off a bit), that to get an A* you had to get over 70%, and to get a C you had to get over 22% (not sure of the percentages exactly, my memory is a bit hazy)
WHAT THE FUCK.
to get D in the Junior Cert you have to get over 40% and I'm sure to get an A you had to get over 85. (i think anyway, i did my junior cert 10 years ago)
how can you even be allowed to pass a subject by getting 22%?!
