This time brought to you from the relative warmth of my bed. Damn cold/flu/virus/whatever it is I have.
Arsenal lose 2-0 to a very worthy Burnley side (who picked up their third top flight scalp in a row), Kevin McDonald grabbing both goals. Still, plenty for Arsenal fans to take heart from as their youngsters put in some solid performances. Not quite there yet though and Wenger may very well rue his selection come May. Derby score a dramatic late penalty to make it 2 for 2 for Championship sides, knocking Stoke out of the cup in a 1-0 victory. Also, a big hurrah for Bournemouth who now have a grand total of 0 points following their 3-3 draw with rock botto m Luton (who are still in minus figures).
Tonight sees Man City take on PSG in the UEFA Cup, as well as the other 2 League Cup semi finals. Could we be left with only 1 surviving Premier League side?
In other news, Klass Jan Huntelaar has agreed a £17m switch to injury-hit Real Madrid for January, Rafa Benitez has backed Robbie Keane to hit his goalscoring stride and Gianfranco Zola has claimed West Ham keeper Green is ready to play for England. Much of the transfer talk is the same old (Man City to buy everyone etc). Liverpool centre-back Daniel Agger is a target for AC Milan, Barcelona may swoop for on-loan Pompey star Nadir Belhadj and Shay Given has ruled out leaving Newcastle.
