Your heart has to go out to Portsmouth (unless of course you are from Southampton). They did themselves proud, were disciplined and organised and never looked like they might get rolled over, despite facing the 7 time winners of the European Cup. But conceding late goals has been their forte this season and although there won't be many who would have begrudged them a victory (aforementioned Southampton inhabitants aside), a draw didn't do either time a great injustice. I won't say much else, I'm sure crablin will start his own thread.
Man City looked good in a 2-0 defeat of Schalke and Spurs edged a win over NEC with an early goal from Jamie O'Hara.
In other news, Joe Kinnear has been charged by the FA for his 'Mickey Mouse' referee comments, Fernando Torres could face another month's lay-off at Liverpool and Derby have completed the signing of Charlton's misfiring Varney. Kaka would apparently swop glitzy Milan for Man City, owing to how many of his nearest and dearest are already at Eastlands, Jaaskelainen has emereged as a possible replacement for Shay Given if the Irishman takes his country's manager advice and leaves Newcastle and Hull's Boaz Myhill has been linked with an £8m move to the continent, with Fenerbahce and Inter Milan said to be leading the race.
William Gallas has claimed Chelsea were lying when they said he threatened to score an own goal if not granted a transfer in 2006. Perhaps should have released this story to the press when public opinion of you and your integrity was a little better, don't you think William?
