off to "dam" this weekend on the eurolines coach. Anyone been on it before? Basically a National Express coach, right?
Or is the coach part of the jolly?
It's basically like a National Express, yep.
it was much cheaper and it works out much easier.
Living in Oxfordshire, it's a quick Oxford Tube to Victoria (no Underground), then jump on the coach. No need to go to Gatwick/Luton/Stanstead. We leave at 10pm (no time off work), sleep on the coach, arrive early Saturday morning, have all day Saturday & night, then day on Sunday before getting the coach back.
Back home by Sunday night.
Just worked out alright really! I've done alot of flying already this year and wanted to try something different
Have you been on it?
but I hope you have an excellace time!
but the thought of sitting on a coach for an ungodly number of hours gives me the fear.
you "get to see the country", I guess.
It's a lot quicker than 42 hours, especially with modern broadband internet connections.
I did 40 hours on a Greyhound from Philidelphia to Austin. It was hell. Missed my flight so had to get a "on the day" ticket. Was only £90.
£34 return to Paris. Hammers Eurostar and planes hands down for price. Downside... 9 hour coach trip!
I may have to make a trip very soon...
normally get the last coach from London, so i kip overnight and get into Paris about 7 in the morning.
Although i find normally you get a nice swanky coach with nobody on it going to Paris, on the way back you get a shitbox which is completely packed and border patrol treat you like bastards.
It's weird isn't it?
it's well worth it.
Was thinking Maybe Paris for NYE, at £30 it's way too tempting.
