Sleeping in you car whilst drunk?
I was out on friday night and got invited back to a party that i was told was in a heated "Summerhouse". When we got there we found that it wasn't heated and was more like a bunk house from Stalag B than somewhere you'd happily sit out in during a hot July day with a glass of Pimms. Anyway, after much moaning about the cold and getting told we were waking the neighbours we were all thrown out into the street. Not wanting the night to end I decided that, rather than go home, I'd sit in my car, which was parked around the corner at my mates house, and do the remainder of my drugs and drink the a bottle of vodka with this bloke I had just met, who was a fellow Stalag B escapee. So we got out of the cold, listened to a bit of music and then passed out. It was a crap idea really, the type that only ever occur to you in a haze of drink, and had I known what artic conditions awaited in the morning i would undoubtably gone home.
In the morning I was awoken with a tap on the window by my bemused mate who was wondering why me and a strange man were sleeping in the car park outside his house. I had no time fo questions and begged him to let us inside before frostbite took our extremities. Inside his house, over a cup of life saving coffee, he started talking about how lucky I had been not to get caught by the police as they ould have surely given me a driving ban for being drunk behind the wheel. I knew what he was saying was true but ever since I can't stop thinking about how stupid that law is. I had no intention of driving but, had a copper come along and saw me, i doubt that my protests of "We're just having a bit of a party, mate" would have stopped him from hauling my drunk arse in. It's a crappy law. Surely if you're going to get done for drink driving you should actually be caught driving around? It'd be like arresting someone for looking at a house on the off chance they were going to burgle it. What a world!
