When is that film coming out??
Was it any good?
The Dark Knight is a freaking amazing movie that breaks all kinds of conventions and takes the superhero movie to a heigh we haven't seen since Donner's Superman film.
Should I be excited?
Unfortunately there are a couple of negatives:
- the opening credits are too CGI and it's odd given they probably had old optical elements they could have used to keep them in line with the old version.
- the only Lester element that's sorely missed is 'care to step outside, General?' or whatever it is
- There was no ending ever conceived after they took this film's ending to use for the first film. Therefore we get the same ending again. They really should have just stuck on Lester's ending but then it wouldn't have been Donner's cut.
If I had the interest in watching it I'd make a 'perfect' cut from the two which would basically be all Donner's barring the ending.
The movie's tone is much improved, feeling darker while still retaining the zip and action that gave Supes II a boost after the first film.
mainly due to the fact that Terrance Howard wont be in Iron Man 2. He wasnt suited to that role whatsoever.
I didnt read the whole article. Did they mention anything about Norton and the Hulk?
I watched the Hulk the other day, with low expectations and found it really enjoyable.
He wouldn't promote the last one because he didn't agree with the direction the film took. Edward Norton is up his own arse.
but the talk is that the Hulk will be one of the opponents the Avengers will face regardless of Norton playing him or not. Which I'm happy with.
On and off, he's my pretty much my favourite super hero. I'm skipping lunch this week so I can justify buying The Death of Captain America graphic novel and related stuff.
the same year as Avengers movie, set in World War 2. Cap gets frozen at the end, two months later, BAM, Avengers movie.
where they debated this.
the way the movies construct their own worlds, the tone of them is so different and the suspension of disbelief is different for films than it is for comics.
the fantastic four didn't cameo in spiderman 3 because of the black suit thing, ah well, roll on batman vs judge dredd vs predator vs marshall law...
it will be amazing. if not it could be a pile of steaming crap. we'll have to wait to 2011 though so its far too early for me to be getting excited.
the JLA tv movie where they rewrote all the characters, changed their powers, shot it in a really tacky way with talking head interviews with the characters and didn't have the rights for any of the really famous characters like Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman
the classic Hal Jordan stuff naturally, although Kyle Rayner is the one who was around when I first noticed GL
