"they butter it like lights"
Someone said this in my mini dream (those ones you get when you're potentially falling asleep but ultimately not). It doesn't make sense. Or does it? What might it mean?
I think the full sentence may have been "they butter it like lights down there", but I'm not 100% sure. The "down there" most likely meant at a certain place, like "at that place, they butter it like lights." I think it may have been referring to a concession stand, and I think it may have been said by a real life human version of Bart Simpson, to a real life human version of Homer Simpson (I've been watching The Simpsons lots of weeknights lately), who was with him at the time, and I think they were at a rodeo. Sitting at a rodeo, in the stands, having just bought some concessions, which are buttered like lights at the concession stand where they are made, but I'm not sure on any of this, and even if it is all the case, that still doesn't answer the question, which is what does "butter it like lights" mean?
I think it's a pretty good saying and should be used more often, but I don't know what it might mean. It would be nice if it could be put to use, though.
